Delivery Driver Assistant for Basic Needs Program Initiative: Beyond the Basics Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing) Location(s): Hartford, CT Hours: Second and Fourth Saturday, 8:00am-12:30pm or Fourth Thursday 10:00am-12:00pm Desired level of commitment: Twice per month Duration: Year-round Age requirement: 18+ Tasks may include: Assisting driver with deliveries to homes in Hartford, Windsor, Bloomfield, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield Lifting heavy boxes Helping prepare delivery boxes In order to volunteer, you should be: A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven’t already) Willing to attend an orientation prior to volunteering Willing to submit a background check Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule Able to use own van or truck Enjoy working with others Reliable Patient Honest Able to lift 50 lbs. Able to use own van or truck Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus, but not required.
